On 14 June 2026, the Consulate General of India, Auckland, was pleased to host the NZ Hindu Women Forum seminar on the New Zealand–India Free Trade Agreement, bringing together entrepreneurs, professionals, community leaders and aspiring business owners to explore the opportunities emerging from this landmark agreement. The event attracted strong interest and facilitated meaningful discussions on trade, investment, entrepreneurship and long-term economic cooperation between India and New Zealand.
Participants benefited from expert presentations by Dr Rahul Sen and Dr Sadhana Srivastava of Auckland University of Technology, who examined the medium- to long-term opportunities arising from the NZ–India FTA, and by Mallika Janakiraman, Founder and Chairperson of Wahine Charitable Trust, whose presentation highlighted the role of Naari Shakti in advancing trade, leadership and intergenerational prosperity. The seminar underscored the growing contribution of women entrepreneurs and community leaders in strengthening bilateral engagement and economic growth.
