With effect from 21 April 2026, applications for registration as Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholder will no longer be accepted by post.

All OCI applicants are hereby requested to visit the Consulate General of India, Auckland (Level 14, 151 Queen Street, Auckland CBD), by prior appointment, for the submission of their OCI applications and verification of supporting documents with original copies. Appointment can be booked at https://www.cgiauckland.gov.in/apt/

With effect from 30 June 2026, the electronic OCI (e-OCI) Card is issued in lieu of the physical OCI card. On approval, applicants may download the e-OCI Card free of cost by logging in to the OCI Portal (https://ociservices.gov.in) or through the official ‘Indian Visa Su Swagatam’ mobile application. Physical OCI booklets already issued remain valid.
