Regular (Paper) Visa - Application Procedure

The Consulate General of India, Auckland accepts visa applications through the online system only. Handwritten or manually typed applications are not accepted.

Step 1 - Complete the Online Application

Go to indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa and click “Regular Visa Application”.
In the “Mission Field”, select New Zealand - Auckland.
Fill in the form completely. Do not leave any column blank. Enter your permanent address as your address in your native country.
Upload your photograph vertically (portrait), not horizontally. Save or submit the application and take a printout only after the photograph has been uploaded; if the photograph is not uploaded, the form will have to be filled in again. Detailed photo instructions are available here.
Press “Submit”. An Application ID beginning with NZLAV will be generated. Note this ID carefully and quote it in all correspondence with the Consulate.

Step 2 - Print, Sign and Submit

Print the completed application form and sign it on page 1 and on page 2 (the declaration). Submit the signed form to the Consulate General of India, Auckland along with:

One recent photograph (2” x 2”)
The prescribed visa fee (Using a debit card at the Consulate)
Your passport in original
The supporting documents required for your visa type (see the list below)

Important Notes

Browser: use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. The online form may not be compatible with the Safari browser and may not work on mobile phone browsers.
Provide your latest and complete contact details on the visa form. Suppression of facts or false, incomplete or inaccurate information will not only result in delay or denial of the visa but may also debar the applicant from getting a visa in future.
A visa application may be accepted, modified or refused by the Consulate, and its decision in the matter shall be final. The Consulate reserves the right to withhold any application for an in-depth examination. A personal interview with the Visa Officer may be required in some cases.
The validity of a regular visa runs from the date of issue, not from the date of travel. Visas are not issued from a future date to match an applicant’s itinerary.
