NRI (Non-Resident Indian) Certificate.

A Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Certificate is a document issued in favour of Indian Citizens abroad for the purpose of ratification of the NRI status of the applicant for different purposes. Essentially, an NRI Certificate serves as a crucial document that allows NRIs to enjoy the benefits and privileges associated with their non-resident status in India. 

A. Application Process and Documents required for Indian Passport holder:

Eligibility Criteria: 

1. The applicant must be an Indian national with a valid Indian Passport. 

2. The applicant must have completed a period of stay of more than 182 days in the country of residence of the applicant.

3. Completed and signed application form for Miscellaneous Consular Services.

4. Original Indian Passport and a photocopy of pages of Indian Passport having Visa/Arrival/Departure/Immigration stamps. The applicant needs to submit a list of their entry/exit into/from India to confirm length of their stay in a foreign country during a particular financial year (March to April). 5. Completed declaration form regarding NRI status by the applicant in the prescribed format Click here

6. Payment Proof of Fees of NZ $ 45 Click here for mode of payments.

7. Copy of current and valid NZ visa. 

8. In case of documents are to be returned by post - Self-addressed prepaid courier envelope to return your documents, please keep the record of the tracking number.

9. Proof of address in New Zealand: NZ Driving License/Photo Identity Card issued by NZ Govt./Water/telephone/electricity bill/statement of running bank account/Income Tax Assessment Order etc.

2. Application Process and Documents required for Foreign Passport and OCI Card holder

1. For non-Indian passport holders, having OCI card, NRI certificate will be issued only for admission to their family members in India at the Indian University under NRI Quota.

2. Completed and signed application form for  Miscellaneous Consular Services.

3. Original Foreign/NZ Passport and Original OCI Card and photocopies having Visa/Arrival/Departure/Immigration stamps

4. Completed declaration form regarding NRI Parity Certificate, by the applicant in the prescribed format Click here

5. Payment Proof of Fees of NZ $ 45 Click here for mode of payments.

6. Proof of address in New Zealand: NZ Driving License/Photo Identity Card issued by NZ Govt./Water/telephone/electricity bill/statement of running bank account/Income Tax Assessment Order etc. 

7. OCI card holders may also submit copy of their OCI card and must provide a proof that a certificate is required for admission in Indian University under NRI quota

8. In case of documents are to be returned by post - Self-addressed prepaid courier envelope to return your documents, please keep the record of the tracking number.
