Emergency Visa

1. Emergency Visa is not a category of visa.

2. Consulate General of India will accept in-person applications, with prior appointment though emergency contact number, on working days as well as on weekends /holidays, from New Zealand passport holders of Indian origin and their family members who are required to visit India due to a family emergency, such as critical illness or death of an immediate family member. Documentary evidence will need to be provided, and the applicant may be charged an emergency service fee. Applicants within the consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General of India, Auckland may contact as per details given below to:

3.      Applicant will be required to provide proof of the emergency such as letter from the hospital / Death Certificate etc., which would be subject to verification and visa will be granted solely at the discretion of the High Commission.

4.      Tourist, Business, Employment, Research or Conference visas CANNOT be applied under emergency procedure.

5.      It may be noted that Emergency Visa will be granted subject to submission of complete documentation and the Consulate may seek additional documentation in certain cases. Applicants are also advised not to finalize their travel arrangements prior to issuance of visa. Emergency Visa will be issued for a maximum of six-month duration/single entry.
