JURISDICTION

Applicants residing in the regions of NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND AND WAIKATO, should apply for Consular Services (Passport, PCC, attestation etc) at Consulate General of India, Auckland.   Applicants residing outside of the above regions must apply to High Commission of India, Wellington.

SERVICES RENDERED:

Currently, following services are being provided by the Consulate: -  

  • Passport fresh issue/renewal/Emergency Certificate

  • Renunciation/Cancellation/Surrender of Indian citizenship/passport

  • Attestation of Documents

  • Affidavit of a parent when applying for a child's passport in India

  • Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)

  • Birth certificate (on passport basis) 

  • Registration of Birth

  • NRI (Non-Resident Indian) Certificate

  • Life Certificates for Pensioners

  • Death Certificate & Certificate required for transport of mortal remains/ashes to India

  • Liquor Permit

Please note that applications can be submitted to the Consulate in following two modes only:

In person at the Consulate BY PRIOR APPOINTMENT ONLY. 

By Post – Applicants are encouraged to send their applications by Post. Duly completed applications are processed at par with the applications received in-person.

FOR ALL THE PAYMENTS MADE BY BANK TRANSFER, KINDLY ENCLOSE A PAYMENT PROOF OF TRANSACTION ALONG WITH YOUR APPLICATION. DATE OF TRANSACTION, FEE AMOUNT AND ACCOUNT NO. OF CONSULATE GENERAL OF INDIA, AUCKLAND SHOULD BE CLEARLY VISIBLE ON ANY SUCH PAYMENT PROOF ENCLOSED. 

APPOINTMENT BOOKING

PROCESSING TIME

Passport Renewal : 30 working days

Police Clearance Certificate : 45 working days

PCC / Other Services on Non-Indian Passports : No time limit

Power of Attorney, Attestation etc. : 5-8 working days

Surrender Certificate : Approx. 90 days

PROCESSING TIME MENTIONED ABOVE FOR ALL SERVICES IS ONLY INDICATIVE and subject to completion of all formalities and will be counted from the date of receipt of completed documents/ fee etc. in all respect. 

CURRENTLY, WE ARE EXPERIENCING DELAY IN THE ABOVE SERVICES.

Applicants are advised to not to make any firm bookings / travel plans before receipt of their passport/documents etc. Confirmed travel booking will not be accepted as a ground for urgency in service.

PASSPORT STATUS ENQUIRY

When your status display- Applicant is requested to collect the passport from counter at Indian Embassy/Consulate

The New passport of the applicant is received at Consulate. The new passport along with old, cancelled passport would be dispatched to the applicants by their return courier bag submitted with their application(s) in next 1-3 working days.

The applicants who have requested for the collection of the passports in person, will receive the email for collection in next 1-3 working days after this status. If no email is received by the applicant within 3 working days from this status, they can come to collect the passports in person after 3 working days between 1600-1700 hrs.
