General Information

The Consulate General of India offers consular services to Indian Citizens living abroad and in some cases to Person of Indian Origin or Foreigners residing under its jurisdiction.

Applicants must ensure they submit applications only to the office responsible for their region.  Applications belonging to the area out of the jurisdiction area of the Consulate will be returned at first instance as these applications lodged in other Missions can neither be processed here nor be transferred internally.

All applications for Consular Services and Emergency Services must be submitted in either of two ways:

      • a. In-Person Submission: Book appointment (https://www.cgiauckland.gov.in/apt/appointment.php) and visit the Consulate during application submission hours.
      • b. Though Courier: Applicants are encouraged to send their applications by Post. Duly completed applications are processed at par with the applications received in-person. Please send self-addressed return courier with tracking facility along with your application. Separate envelopes must be provided for multiple applications.

PROCESSING TIME MENTIONED ABOVE FOR ALL SERVICES IS ONLY INDICATIVE and subject to completion of all formalities and will be counted from the date of receipt of completed documents/ fee etc. in all respect. 

Applicants are advised to not to make any firm bookings / travel plans before receipt of their passport/documents etc. Confirmed travel booking will not be accepted as a ground for urgency in service.

When your status display- Applicant is requested to collect the passport from counter at Indian Embassy/Consulate

The New passport of the applicant is received at Consulate. The new passport along with old, cancelled passport would be dispatched to the applicants by their return courier bag submitted with their application(s) in next 1-3 working days.

The applicants who have requested for the collection of the passports in person, will receive the email for collection in next 1-3 working days after this status. If no email is received by the applicant within 3 working days from this status, they can come to collect the passports in person after 3 working days between 1600-1700 hrs.

Police Clearance Certificate has been printed.

The PCC has been issued and PDF copy of PCC is being sent to the email ID provided in the online application form. The PCC is sent on the email ID in 2-3 working days after this status.

 

The PDF copy of PCC on Indian Passport is sent by email to all applicants, and this is accepted by all the local authorities.  Therefore, a printed/physical copy will not be issued/sent. The applicants may take a printout of the PDF PCC received and submit to the local authorities concerned.
